BUFFALO (wned) – As the stalemate continues in the New York State Senate, pressure is building for Senators to find a way to get back to their legislative duties.

Last week, the BOA Coalition, a wide-ranging collection of interest groups, drafted a letter which called upon the Senate to find a temporary power sharing agreement.

According to the letter, at stake is legislation that, if not passed, would threaten the “health, safety, education and livelihood of millions of New Yorkers. ”

Diana Cihak represents one of the interested groups, Citizen Action of New York. She believes the June 8th “coup” of the Senate put a halt to important reform legislation, including new campaign finance laws which, if they had been already on the books, would have prevented the current gridlock in Albany.

Diana Cihak shared her thoughts in a conversation with WNED News.
