Health care reform has been making headlines, but many have a lot of questions and opinions on the matter–and they were voicing  those concerns in Endwell Tuesday.

Congressional candidate George Phillips held a town hall meeting at the Brothers 2 Restaurant.

Supporters and opponents of the president’s proposed health care reform plan filled the banquet room.

“I am extremely worried about the national debt and the budget deficit right  now–and if we add another government entitlement program–so called Public Option–I fear what’s going to happen for our financial future and for our future in health care.  I fear we can reform this system working with the private sector,” said George Phillips, Congressional Candidate.

“We have 86,000 people in this congressional district who don’t have any health care coverage.  This bill would provide coverage to two-thirds of them. Almost every single family throughout this district would benefit with subsides to help and afford health care coverage,” said Mary Clark, Citizen Action Reg. Director.

Republican George Phillips ran against Democratic Congressman Maurice Hinchey in the last election and lost.

He is now beginning his campaign for the 2010 election.
