The “Restore the American Promise” caravan is slated to stop in Pittsford at the office of Rep. Tom Reed, R – Corning, tomorrow while on a statewide tour.
The caravan brings together a large coalition of community, labor, senior, and consumer groups, and other concerned New Yorkers. Their message is calling on New York’s elected representatives to protect, preserve and strengthen America’s “social safety net,” including Medicare, Medicaid, and social security.
They’re scheduled to stop by Reed’s office at 672 Pittsford-Victor Road at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. According to a press release, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor will be in attendance.
The tours are going through the next several days as the Aug. 2 deadline draws closer for Congress to raise the national debt ceiling.
The event is sponsored by Citizen Action.
