From horse racing to politics, we’ve got it all at YNN, but first, get ready to Pig Out with some good old-fashioned Barbeque! The two day Troy Pig Out festival ends Sunday but not until awards are handed out for some of the best barbeque in the state! Get your rib tickets early, last year they sold out in 15 minutes.
The fight over our nation’s debt ceiling isn’t just restricted to Capitol Hill. Several groups plan to rally at Albany’s Capitol, as well as other gathering places across the state, to protest potential entitlement cuts. Groups like Citizen Action of New York and the Alliance for Retired Americans are urging Congress NOT to include cuts to health care, Medicaid, Medicare and social security. This hot-button issue may be one of the hold-ups in Republicans and Democrats crossing party lines to get a National budget passed.
It’s time to put on your betting hats and get your wallets ready! Saratoga’s busy racing season starts Friday! Gates will open at 11 a.m., with the first race at 1 p.m. Last year, trainer and Mechanicville native Chad Brown really made a name for himself at the meet. Time will tell who will sweep the headlines and take top honors during this year’s season. YNN will be bringing you live coverage from the track, so be sure to keep it on Channel 9. The season runs through September 5th.
It’s one week and counting until members of Hollywood’s A-list swarm Schenectady to begin filming The Place Beyond the Pines. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on this exciting and developing story!
