Protest planned outside Gibson office, but Gibson won’t be there

A coalition of advocacy organizations and labor unions announced it will hold a demonstration at 3 p.m. Wednesday outside U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson’s district office at 513 Broadway in Saratoga Springs.

The group is focussing on issues such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and the federal debt ceiling, according to a pree release.

Gibson, R-Kinderhook, won’t be at the office at that time, however.

Gibson will hold a town hall forum from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Schroon Lake Central School Auditorium, on Route 9 in Schroon Lake, his office announced.

Earlier on Wednesday, he will meet with his agriculture advisory panel at 10 a.m. at Farm Credit East in Greenwich.

On Thursday, Gibson will attend a ribbon cutting at the GlobalFoundries facility in Malta at 10 a.m., and will meet with his energy advisroy panel at 11:30 a.m. at RPI in Troy.
