ALBANY, N.Y. — Occupy Albany became Occupy the Capitol Thursday, as more than 100 protesters took over the Capitol War Room, after bussing in dozens of supporters from all across the state.

Protester Daniel Robinson said, “From as far as Buffalo, they’re picking up people in Rochester and Syracuse, to let ‘Governor 1%’ know that we have a message.”

“The wealthy in this state…have far too much of the money.”

A mic check from PEF President Ken Brynien stated their message loud and clear in Lafayette Park, where protestors said they march to the beat of a different drum than the so-called one percent.

“Tax the millionaires,” said a protester. “That’s why I’m here today.”

“Governor Cuomo is Governor 1%, just as people are starting to call him,” said another protester.

“We elected him because he was for the people, by the people, and now he’s stepping on the people,” added another.

So they brought their complaints over no more millionaire’s tax and budget cuts right to the governor’s doorstep – and then, delivered Occupy’s unofficial resolution to the Senate chamber.

Protester Jessica Wisneski said, “The people came to the Capitol to give them the model legislation today.”

Despite the uproar, State Police don’t anticipate any arrests, as long as they stay peaceful.

State Police Captain Steven James said, “As long as they’re peaceful protests, obviously, we allow that to transpire during normal business hours.”
