BUFFALO, N.Y. — Members of the Alliance for Quality Education and Citizens Action of New York found a unique way to spread their message Monday night – with a little holiday spirit.
Parents, students, and community members participated in the “Carol Against Corporate Greed.”
The event, which took place at several locations in downtown Buffalo, had participants sing traditional holiday jingles tweaked to demand a closure of corporate tax shortcuts and generate revenue to restore various programs in schools.
Members say this is a battle that everyone can be a part of.
“Everyone should join in – small communities, churches, everyone should join in and push for fair share, fair tax and equality,” said Gayla Thompson, Citizens Action of New York.
The group says its next step is to demand corporate tax reform.
