Thirteen members of New York’s Congressional delegation – including four Democrats – voted for a bill that would stop the resettlement of 10,000 Syrian refugees in the United States.

They are: Lee Zeldin, Pete King, Steve Israel, Kathleen Rice, Daniel Donovan, Sean Maloney, Christopher Gibson, Elise Sefanik, Richard Hanna, Tom Reed, John Katko, Louise Slaughter and Chris Collins.

Today, Citizen Action of New York sent those 13 Congressmembers a letter condemning the vote. It reads in part:

On behalf of our thousands of members and supporters throughout the state, we ask you to withdraw your support from this ill-advised legislation. Instead, we ask you to support policies that will alleviate the suffering of refugees from the Middle East, and which will lead to solutions to the crisis that brought about their suffering.
