Did you take a knee yesterday? I know I did – solidarity in the name of racial justice is something I do all week and even Sunday afternoon in my living room. And the Miami Dolphins wearing #ImWithKap shirts before the game? Be still my heart… I love organizing!

That’s why I’m very much looking forward to this Friday, September 27 at 6 PM and seeing some familiar and some new faces to the movement. This General Body Meeting is important… we need to organize as a city, a state, and as a people — did you not see what our Cheeto-in-Command did this weekend?!?

We are also co-sponsoring the Buffalo Anti-Gentrification Summit happening on October 14th at 9 AM. The summit will be at the HOPE Center and will explore the intersections of issues that organizations across the city are working on.

Speaking of our work, our education committee will be re-convening on the second Tuesday – October 10th at 6 PM at 49 Virginia Place. This meeting will be centered around a strategic plan for the coming year – come by to have your voices heard!

We are still seeking to elect Vanessa Glushefski to Erie County Comptroller. Canvassing efforts and phone calls will be generated through the month of October. Let’s take a walk and tell our neighbors about Vanessa and why the County Comptroller is important!

I look forward to building this movement with you. Together we can organize to create the kind of Buffalo and the kind of New York we wish to see in the world. Become a member of Citizen Action today.

We’ll see you soon,

P.S – Here’s our calendar of events.
