Kingston, NY — New cell phone footage shows the excessive use of force in the 2015 arrest of Fabian Marshall.

Marshall, 27, was misidentified by police while waiting for a ride to work in September 2015. He was stunned with a taser no less than 21 times, in addition to being physically assailed by the arresting officer.

Last Friday, Marshall was found guilty of obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor. His sentencing is scheduled for January 8th, 2018.

“The Kingston officers involved in the arrest must be held accountable for their extreme use of force,” said Callie Jayne, lead organizer for Citizen Action of New York. “Fabian has spent much of the past two years dealing with legal issues related to this incident. We call on the Mayor and City Council to put a stop to abusive policing practices in our community.”
