In response to the House passing the GOP tax plan, Executive Director of Citizen Action of New York Karen Scharff issued the following statement:
“Today our GOP House Members threw their lot in with a donor class determined to bleed our health care and education systems dry. At a time of towering inequality, Republicans in the House voted to further enrich the very wealthy at the expense of working people. Tenney, Katko, Collins, and Reed will have to answer to voters for their vote today. The Republicans who voted “no” must also be held accountable: Faso, Stefanik, Donovan, King, and Zeldin did not do enough to stop their party from passing this devastating bill.”
