Cabán Lays Out Bold Vision to End Mass Incarceration Crisis
New York, NY — Citizen Action of New York has announced its endorsement of Tiffany Cabán for Queens District Attorney.
Cabán stood out in a crowded field of candidates for her understanding of racial and economic inequities in the criminal justice system and commitment to community-based solutions to issues related to poverty and addiction.
“Citizen Action of New York has led principled, fearless campaigns to end cash bail, take corporate money out of politics, and hold our institutions accountable to the people,” said Tiffany Cabán, Queens DA candidate. “I am honored to receive their endorsement and will work with them to create a Queens justice system that centers stability and safety in our communities.”
“In this competitive race, Tiffany stood out as the candidate whose goal wasn’t to make improvements to a deeply flawed system—she plans to transform the entire office,” said Jesse Laymon, Board Chair for Citizen Action of New York NYC Chapter. “It’s not only important to be good on the issues, we need the type of leaders who are looking for ways to shift power. We believe that Tiffany is that kind of candidate.”
