Buffalo, NY—Citizen Action of New York has announced endorsements in several key Buffalo and Erie County races:
Buffalo School Board:
- Terrance Heard (At-Large)
- Desmond Nalls (At-Large)
- Larry Scott (At-Large)
- Sharon Belton Cottman (Ferry District)
- Dr. Paulette Woods (Central District)
Buffalo Common Council:
- Pharaoh Paige (Fillmore District)
- Veronica Golden (Masten District)
Buffalo Comptroller:
- Barbara Miller-Williams
Erie County Legislature:
- Katrinna Martin (District 1)
- Duncan Kirkwood (District 2)
- Cindi McEachon (District 3)
“Citizen Action is proud to be supporting candidates committed to equity in our public schools and larger Erie County community. Local residents continue to struggle with rising rents and underfunded schools. Our slate of candidates plan to advocate for fair funding for our schools, invest in city and county programs, and protect tenants from corporate landlords and developers,” said Alexander Wright, member of Citizen Action of New York.
“I am running for an at-large seat to represent all of our schools, from the East Side to the West Side, from North Buffalo to South Buffalo,” said Larry Scott, Buffalo School Board candidate. “We must continue the important work to provide access, opportunity, and quality for all of our children.”

“Citizen Action is an organization that fights for housing rights, climate justice, fair elections, and so much more. It’s an honor to receive this endorsement,” said Duncan Kirkwood, candidate for Erie County Legislature (District 2).
“As a teenage mother who beat the odds, I seek pay parity for women. As a not-for profit leader, I seek to turn mass incarceration on its head and end the school-to-prison pipeline. As the mother of an active duty, enlisted United States Marine, and an LGBTQ youth, I seek equal access to community resources and provider accountability,” said Cindi McEachon, candidate for the Erie County Legislature (District 3).
