Rochester, NY–Citizen Action of New York announced its endorsement of New York State Assemblymember Harry B. Bronson for re-election in the 138th Assembly District, which includes portions of the city of Rochester and the towns of Chili and Henrietta.

Bronson was first elected to the Assembly in 2010 and previously served as a Monroe County Legislator. Citizen Action cites Bronson’s longstanding commitment to education equity, affordable housing, and ending the crisis of mass incarceration as key reasons for their endorsement.

“From ensuring a quality education for all our children to tenant protections for our families to criminal justice reform for our community, I am happy to stand with the members of Citizen Action as we fight for equity and justice for all New Yorkers,” said Assemblymember Harry B. Bronson. “I am grateful for the trust Citizen Action has put into me with their endorsement of my candidacy for re-election to the New York State Assembly. Together, we have accomplished so many things that benefit our families, and I look forward to continuing our progressive policy changes for our state.”

“Harry Bronson continues to be an ally for our Rochester City School District students, and has remained strong on supporting pretrial reforms,” said Nidia Benitez, a member of Citizen Action. “His dedication to the people of Rochester by supporting equitable funding for our schools and equity within our justice system is one of the many reasons we are proud to endorse him.”

Bronson is chair of the Assembly’s Committee on Aging and is a member of the Education, Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry, Labor and Transportation committees.

Citizen Action of New York is a statewide, grassroots membership organization with 8 chapters and thousands of active members.
