Citizen Action of New York Endorses Jamaal Bowman for Congress

Jamaal is the Progressive Leader N.Y.-16 Needs 

New York, NYCitizen Action of New York announced its endorsement of Jamaal Bowman for New York’s 16th Congressional District, which covers portions of the Bronx and Westchester. 

Jamaal has been an educator and public school advocate for more than 20 years. He is running for Congress to fight for a New York where everyone can thrive, regardless of their zip code or immigration status. He is the co-founding principal of the Cornerstone Academy for Social Action (CASA) located in the Baychester neighborhood of the Bronx, and is dedicated to closing the achievement gap in New York. Citizen Action also cites Jamaal’s commitment to affordable housing and health care for all as reasons for its endorsement.  

“We deserve a leader in Congress who’s close to the community and will fight to make sure we all win,” said Krystal Jenkins, Citizen Action member. “Jamaal understands the issues impacting our community on the day-to-day. He checks all the boxes of a true progressive candidate, and has the track record in our community to match.”
