Schenectady, NY — The Capital District Chapter of Citizen Action of New York announced today that they have endorsed Justin Chaires for Assembly in the 111th District.
“We are proud to support Justin Chaires to represent Schenectady, Amsterdam, and the Mohawk Valley, and to continue the fight for justice in the 111th in the State Assembly,” said Ivette Alfonso, President of Citizen Action of New York. “His service to the community is invaluable, from his involvement as a parent to his time on the civilian review board, to his service with the local NAACP. Justin has a proven record as an educator and advocate, and we’re confident he’ll continue to work for the people in every way that he can.”
“I’m honored to accept the endorsement of Citizen Action for my campaign to represent the good people of the 111th Assembly District,” said Justin Chaires. “I will stand with Citizen Action to advance their Justice Agenda and organize with them on causes that help working families throughout New York. As an educator and a parent, I believe that every student in New York deserves the highest quality of education. I will work to ensure that foundation aid goes to the districts that need it most, continue my advocacy to end the school-to-prison pipeline, and help to build positive relationships between members of our learning communities based on restorative justice models. I look forward to doing this work along with Citizen Action.”
