A banquet dinner will be provided, along with a cash bar. Masks will be required at the venue except while eating or drinking To ensure the safety of all of our guests.

A virtual livestream will be provided for those unable to attend in person. Discounted tickets are available for anyone joining virtually.

Every year, the Citizen Action of New York – Southern Tier Chapter hosts the Phoenix Awards. This event honors local activists who are engaged in advancing our vision of a world based on racial, social, economic, and environmental justice.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Cynthia Kirk, Broome County NAACP
  • Dara Silberstein, Associate Research Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Binghamton University
  • DAROC (Divestment, Accountability, and Reinvestment in Our Community) Broome County, a coalition of Broome County organizations working to divest from the carceral state, reinvest in community, and hold police accountable.
