“Today we learned that Mike Bloomberg and his mayoral campaign committee have failed to disclose over $3.3 million in political contributions as required by City campaign finance law and the Campaign Finance Board. This appears to be more than an oversight or a clerical error, but rather a serious omission of information which raises significant concerns about the Bloomberg campaign’s adherence to the letter and spirit of the law.
Citizen Action fought hard to reform City campaign finance laws which are intended to bring increased transparency to the system. The actions of the Mayor and his campaign fly in the face of the hard work that was done by New Yorkers to bring about that change. Mike Bloomberg and all candidates should respect the right of New Yorkers to have transparency and accountability from our elected officials.”
