CLIMATE JUSTICE
We believe in Protecting the Health of Our Communities
We need to transform our energy economy, invest in communities most harmed by the climate crisis, and ensure the fair and equitable distribution of our shared resources. Those closest to the crisis – communities of color, low-income communities and indigenous communities – must be the ones driving the solutions.
Everyone Deserves a Clean Climate
Everyone deserves to live in a healthy and resilient community, protected from extreme weather and pollution. So we must:
- Eliminate greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change.
- Transform our state to a renewable energy economy
- Prioritize Black, Brown and other vulnerable communities that have suffered disproportionate effects of the climate crisis.

New York State's Climate Crisis
Our homes and communities face an unprecedented threat. The climate crisis endangers the safety, health and well-being of our communities. The effects of the climate crisis are underway, and we are witnessing its devastating impact. New Yorkers — both Upstate and Downstate — are experiencing disastrous storms and extreme flooding. For Black, Brown and indigenous communities, the crisis arrived decades ago, in the form of air and water pollution, contaminated land, and lead and mold in homes.
