Dave Gilson and Carolyn Perot from Mother Jones shared interesting data on how the super-rich are benefiting from the middle class’ net worth. The article provides eight charts that explain, in their words, “everything that’s wrong with America.”  The charts display how the nation’s economic growth consistently has been going to the wealthy while the middle class dwindles and dries up.

One chart shows the difference of new worth between the members of congress and actual middle class families.  The resulting irony: the richest members of congress wanted the Bush tax cuts extended.

The richest are being voted into office and are reaping the benefit while the middle and low class have been and STILL are greatly affected by this upset.

Another chart focuses on Americans perception of wealth and how it is “balanced out; most not recognizing the reality of disparities in income.”

These graphics bring to light a topic that NEEDS to be examined and corrected. There are too many systems in place that are keeping the rich on the top and others out the picture.
