The Alliance for Excellent Education recently produced a study detailing the future spending, tax revenue, home sales, and other benefits that would result from improving America’s graduation rates. Vizualizing.org, which specializes in creating infographics, then held a contest to see who could design the best image encapsulating the data that the Alliance for Excellent Education compiled. The following image, submitted by Jonathan Schwabish and Courtney Griffith, won the contest.

An estimated 1.3 million students across America dropped out of high school in 2010. If half of these students stayed in school – even in 2010 alone – the economic impact on our country would be astoundingly positive. Now, more than ever, we need to focus on protecting education funding. Urge your local, state, and federal representatives to invest in our kids’ futures!
