Community Group Rallies Behind Progressive

Queens – Citizen Action of New York, a grassroots membership organization that fights for key issues like quality and affordable health care for all, Fair Elections campaign finance reform, fair education funding, racial justice, and a more progressive tax system, today announced their endorsement of Nily Rozic in her effort to represent the 25th Assembly District in Queens.

“We need strong, knowledgeable leaders to represent our communities at the Capitol, and with Nily Rozic, we’ll have a partner who understands how Albany works and will be an effective fighter on behalf of working families,” said Té Revesz, a member of the Board of Citizen Action of New York and chair of the Citizen Action of New York City Chapter. “Nily is an outstanding example of a new generation of progressives. She has shown that she will work to bring more women into government and make sure our families have access to quality, affordable health care, that our government works for the people and not for special interest campaign contributors, and that our children get the opportunities they need to be successful from kindergarten to college to a career.”

“Issues like quality, affordable health care, fair education funding, limiting the influence of money in politics, and justice for families are critically important to Citizen Action’s 20,000 members across the state,” said Ivette Alfonso, President of Citizen Action of New York. “These issues face tough opponents in our state government. That’s why we need strong leaders like Nily who won’t back down and who have proven their commitment to fight for New York’s working families.”

“I am honored to earn the support of Citizen Action New York, a great government reform group that understands the importance of restoring fairness and transparency in our democracy,” said Nily Rozic. “I look forward to working with the Citizen Action faction in Albany and in Queens.”
