Gutting health care and under funding our public schools. Those are just two of the battles we are facing. BUT… When health care and education are under attack, what do we do? STAND UP. FIGHT BACK!
MONDAY, MARCH 20 – Congressional Call In Day – 844-898-1199
Please Use this number so we can keep count and show our strength!
Tell Congress: oppose any attempt to gut the Affordable Care Act and impose caps on Medicaid. It’s just plain wrong to take away Medicaid from millions of vulnerable seniors, disabled and children to give billions in tax breaks to the wealthy and insurance companies.
MONDAY, MARCH 20 – Protect Our Public Schools Call In Day
Tell your senator: You assured your community that you would stand up for Foundation Aid. Families in your community are depending on you to follow through on your word. Actions speak louder than words. Vote NO on any budget that doesn’t include at least $1.4 billion of the Foundation Aid owed to schools.
Senator Tedisco: 518-885-1829
Senator Amedore: 845-331-3810
MONDAY, MARCH 20 – Fight for Education Conference Call – 5:00PM
Conference Call-In Number: 712-775-7035
Access Code: 472832#
What can Schenectady do to stand up for our public schools? What actions can we take? How can we make a difference? Earlier this month, we were incredibly optimist when Senator Tedisco wrote a letter in support of fully funding our public schools and ensuring equitable funding for all and that Senator Amedore signed on as well. That has completely changed! Both Schenectady senators have voted in favor of the Senate one-house budget that not only lacks fully funding our schools but also destroys the formula used to determine how money is distributed to schools. This dangerous budget proposal means immediate and long-term cuts to our school district.

THURSDAY, MARCH 23 – Die-In to Save Our Care – 4:00PM – Rep. Stefanik’s Office, 136 Glen St., Glens Falls
We have organized a “health care emergency” event outside of Stefanik’s Glens Falls office. Republicans in Congress are moving ahead with their disastrous plan to leave 3 million New Yorkers without health coverage by repealing the Affordable Care Act. We’re fighting back! Join us on the anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act at Stefanik’s office to demand she stand up for health care for all – not tax breaks for the super-rich. The lives and well-being of our friends, family and community members are at stake!

THURSDAY, APRIL 13 – Rally at Faso Town Hall – 7:30PM – WMHT, Troy
Congressman John Faso voted ‘yes’ to move forward with the Republican health care plan that will leave 120,000 of his constituents without health coverage.
Now, after months of constituents demanding a town hall, he’ll finally be holding one – but it’s only open to 60 people!
