Albany, NY–In response to the New York State Senate and State Assembly one-house budget resolutions, Jessica Wisneski, Co-Executive Director of Citizen Action of New York, has issued the following statement:
“New Yorkers turned out in record numbers in November to demand progressive reforms–including small donor matching and equitable public school funding–that for years were blocked by the Republican-IDC majority. We commend the State Senate Democratic Majority and State Assembly for including small donor matching and a $1.2 billion increase in Foundation Aid in their budget proposals. Over the next several weeks, Citizen Action of New York and its grassroots allies will be working to make sure the Governor, Senate, and Assembly get these proposals across the finish line.”
