Albany, NY – With early voting underway, Citizen Action of New York’s Capital District chapter announced their endorsement of Nina Nichols for Rensselaer County Legislature (District 1), Alex Flood for Rensselaer County Legislature (District 4), Justan Foster for Rensselaer County Clerk, and Mary Frances Sabo for re-election to North Greenbush Town Board. This is the final round of endorsements to complete a lineup of progressive candidates that share the chapter’s vision for a Capital Region that works for the many, not the few.
“We are proud to endorse Nina, Alex, Justan, and Mary Frances, who we know will work to make life better for the people of Rensselaer,” said Gabriel Silva, Citizen Action lead organizer in Albany. “There is a strong progressive presence here in the Capital Region, and we have candidates who reflect that. In addition to supporting our endorsed candidates, there are very important referendums on the ballot. We encourage everyone to vote and make their voice heard in Tuesday’s election. Our communities deserve representatives who will listen and lead with compassion, and address our most pressing needs from housing stability to climate action.”
A grassroots organization with eight regional chapters and over 30,000 members across New York State, Citizen Action of New York works on issues important to our communities, including fair elections, equitable school funding, housing for all, environmental justice, and ending mass incarceration.
