New York, NY – The New York City chapter of Citizen Action of New York announced the second slate of candidates that have earned endorsements in the 2022 elections: State Senator Jabari Brisport for re-election, Sarah Blas for State Senate, and Ryder Kessler, Wilfredo López, and Delsenia Glover for New York State Assembly.
“These candidates believe in our most deeply held values, and we are confident in their ability to lead New York to a brighter and more progressive future; one where every person is guaranteed a safe and stable place to live; every child has quality care and education; and we all live in healthy, resilient communities,” said Sherese Jackson, NYC Chapter Regional Council Member, Citizen Action of New York. “These candidates are community champions, committed to making our shared vision a reality for every New Yorker, and that’s why we are in full support of their campaigns.”
“I’m proud to receive Citizen Action’s endorsement and will continue to fight alongside them to pass Good Cause eviction, end mass incarceration, and ensure that every New Yorker has access to free, quality healthcare,” said Jabari Brisport, State Senator for New York’s 25th District. “They know the transformative impact that legislation like Universal Child Care can have on our communities and that together we can win the change we need.”
“I feel honored to have the support of a grassroots organization whose values align so closely with my own,” said Sarah Blas, candidate for State Senate in New York’s 23rd District. “I am eager to continue engaging the issues that matter, together with Citizen Action.”
“I am honored to have the backing of Citizen Action of New York. They recognize that a better New York is within our reach — but only if we’re organized enough to build grassroots power to make it a reality,” said Ryder Kessler, candidate for Assembly in New York’s 66th District. “I am excited to be that voice for downtown Manhattan, working in coalition with Citizen Action and its members to fight so all New Yorkers have affordable housing, high-quality education, a humane justice system, a sustainable climate, and a flourishing democracy.”
“I’m proud and humbled to be endorsed by Citizen Action, an organization that has fought and won funding for public schools, affordable housing, and a more fair legal system,” said Wilfredo López, candidate for Assembly in New York’s 68th District. “Together, we will continue to fight for the 68th AD in Albany for health care justice, housing justice, and true education justice!”
“I am proud and honored to be endorsed by Citizen Action of New York, an organization focused on the crucial social justice issues facing New Yorkers right now including affordable housing, quality public education, ending mass incarceration, quality affordable healthcare, fair elections, and dismantling racism,” said Delsenia Glover, candidate for Assembly in New York’s 70th District.
