Poughkeepsie, NY – In response to Governor Kathy Hochul and Congressman Pat Ryan’s announcement of the $12 Million state grant to replace lead water pipes and protect drinking water in Poughkeepsie Isaiah Fenchiel, Lead Organizer for the Hudson Valley Chapter of Citizen Action of New York issued the following statement:

“Governor Hochul and Congressman Ryan are delivering real change for Poughkeepsie, securing millions to replace toxic lead water lines and protect our families. This is what true leadership looks like—taking bold action for public health.”

“Meanwhile, Rob Rolison’s historic opposition to this life-saving funding—and his failure to address Poughkeepsie’s lead crisis as mayor—exposes a shocking disregard for our community’s safety. Our families deserve leaders who will fight for their health and well-being, not those who turn a blind eye to our communities’ needs.”
