Citizen Action of New York Endorses Rochester Candidates Committed to Social, Racial and Economic Justice

(Rochester, NY) – Citizen Action of New York’s Board of Directors has announced a slate of endorsements for candidates in Rochester who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing social and economic justice. These endorsed candidates have pledged to fight for progressive policies that prioritize the needs of working families, racial and economic equity, and investments in public services that strengthen communities.

“Our endorsements in Rochester are about backing leaders who truly understand the challenges facing our communities, and are ready to fight for transformational change,” said Shana Dahlin, Citizen Action of New York Board President. “These candidates are not just running for office—they’re rooted in the community and ready to fight for a future where every Rochester family has what they need to thrive.”

The candidates endorsed by Citizen Action of New York’s Board of Directors include:

  • Camille Simmons for Rochester City Board of Education;
  • Chiara Smith for Rocehster City Council At-Large;
  • Kelly Cheatle for Rochester City Council At-Large; and
  • Kevin Stewart, Rochester City Council At-Large.
