Why We're Fighting
We must ensure that all New Yorkers can participate fully and equally in the electoral process. Our freedom to participate in a healthy democracy is how we ensure a government for the common good – a government that creates good jobs, makes healthcare affordable, and guarantees that all of our children go to good schools.
Voting is one way we ensure that our communities receive the services we are entitled to. We want a transparent process we can trust, where New Yorkers have equal access to the ballot and are able to determine who appears on the ballot, whether we live in a small town or big city, Upstate or Downstate.
What We're Fighting For
We must strengthen and maintain the integrity of our democracy, which means protecting the rights of every single person to participate in it. We will make elections accessible for all New Yorkers by:
- Preserving and strengthening Public Campaign Financing to ensure elected officials are accountable to people, not special interests.
- Passing the Democracy During Detention Act to ensure people who are detained pretrial have the right to access their freedom to vote.
- Passing the Democracy Preservation Act to get foreign influence out of electoral campaigns.

What We're Fighting For
We have to make sure that voting options are equally accessible to everyone and that our voices are heard by preventing billionaires from buying our elections and buying our elected officials. We will do this by:
- Fully funding Public Financing of Campaigns to ensure elected officials are accountable to people, not special interests.
- Protecting the Freedom to Vote for all New Yorkers and strengthen and expand participation in our democratic elections — including those who are currently incarcerated.
