Proposal 1 (Statewide): This proposal would allow for state bonds to be sold to fund environmental projects. These projects are intended to mitigate flood damage, protect natural resources, conserve land and natural spaces, and improve water quality and infrastructure.
Proposal 2 (NYC): This proposal would add introductory text, known as a preamble, to the New York City Charter. This preamble would serve as a guiding principle for city government to promote justice and equity for all New Yorkers.
Proposal 3 (NYC): This proposal would create an Office of Racial Equity, require a citywide Racial Equity Plan every two years, and create a Commission on Racial Equity.

2021 Statewide Ballot Measures

we support the following ballot measures

Proposal 1: The Redistricting Changes Amendment will, if passed, will allow New York to expand voting rights and to clarify its redistricting process by requiring that people who are currently excluded from voter counts be included; limiting the number of state senators; and moving up the timeline for redistricting to improve the process.

Proposal 2: The Environmental Rights Amendment would add a right to clean water, clean air, and a healthful environment to the Bill of Rights in the New York State Constitution – critical now more than ever as we seek to address climate change in real, impactful ways.

Proposal 3: The Remove 10-Day-Advance Voter Registration Requirement Amendment would ensure that all eligible voters are able to vote by allowing them to register or correct any problems with their registration right up until Election Day.

Proposal 4: The Allow for No-Excuse Absentee Voting Amendment. During any election, including during the ongoing Covid pandemic, many voters struggle to get to the polls (or simply prefer to vote by mail). Passing this Amendment would allow any registered voter to request an absentee ballot without having to give a reason.

Proposal 5: The NYC Civil Court Jurisdiction Amendment would let NYC Civil Court hear and decide cases involving claims of $50,000 or less, which if passed would make it easier and less expensive for people to file lawsuits.
