CONTEST: CALL FOR WESTERN NEW YORK ARTISTS & ACTIVISTS

If you are a WNY resident who loves art, who cares about climate justice, class justice, and racial justice, and who would like to win a $100, $50, or $25 prepaid Visa gift card for making artwork, this contest is for you!

NY Renews is an environmental justice coalition with 280+ member organizations across NY State. NY Renews succeeded in pushing the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), which sets nation-leading standards on green energy goals, into law in 2019. Now it’s time to make the CLCPA’s goals happen by passing the Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA), the CLCPA’s sister funding bill!

The CCIA will force corporations to pay for the pollution they produce; will invest up to $15B into the creation of sustainable energy infrastructure and high-paying green jobs; will prioritize hiring of women, Black, Indigenous and other people of color, formerly incarcerated people, and unemployed people for those green jobs; and will provide fossil fuel industry workers protection with transitional funding and employment opportunities.

Let’s #MakePollutersPay for the harm they’ve caused in our communities! They’ve committed the crime, so let’s make them pay the price!
